Video Relay Service (VRS)
Video Relay (VRS) allows Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to use American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate on the phone with Hearing individuals. Supported by the Universal Service Fund, callers communicate by working with videophone technology and nationally certified interpreters.
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) uses video technology to provide a sign language interpreter on demand for meetings where Deaf and hearing people are in the same room. This is ideal for situations where an interpreter can’t be present in person and is often a cost-effective choice for meeting communication accessibility needs. The Federal Communications Commission has said that VRS cannot be used as a substitute for VRI. VRI is a billable service offered by The Z.
Foreign Language Service
Z Business Video Solutions in partnership with Stratus Video Interpreting has a cost-effective solution that will help government and businesses meet the federal mandate for multiple language access while cutting their costs. With Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), you can have a qualified interpreter available on-demand in almost any language in addition to American Sign Language.
Have an existing system already such as Polycom, Cisco, or Lync and you want to connect to our interpreting platform? We offer a solution known as Z-Bridge.
