CLEARWATER, Fla. [July 13, 2009] — Shannon Odneal, The Z™ Video Solutions manager for Indiana and Ohio, has taken on additional responsibilities to lead The Z™’s new National Community Outreach program.
The program is designed to serve as a leading-edge resource on communication access and how to customize it for an individual’s professional and personal needs. Armed with comprehensive information on video relay service (VRS), video remote interpreting, text relay service, Cap-Tel, and a variety of Z products and services, Odneal now serves as the prime contact for resources, education and presentation needs.
“The Z™ has experienced tremendous growth, and we saw the need for a main point-of-contact to build and maintain positive relationships with key not-for-profit, educational and medical organizations, as well as businesses within the deaf and hard of hearing community,” said Tim Rarus, CSDVRS vice president of sales. “As one of the co-founders of the first community center of, by and for the deaf and hard of hearing community in Ohio, Shannon is very familiar with community outreach. She is also a staunch advocate of educating the community at large on how video relay can enhance our daily lives.”
Odneal, the first deaf woman telecommunications specialist, brought to CSDVRS extensive experience that she was able to apply to the VRS industry. Since joining the company in 2003, she has served as consumer relations manager, account manager and regional sales manager, winning two top sales awards and taking the lead on special projects such as Z Meeting.
“I’m excited to lead the company’s National Community Outreach program,” said Odneal. “There’s nothing more rewarding than reaching out to the community and showing them how access to communication can and will change their lives. I’m ready to show people how to change the way they communicate.”
