Description:

Supervise CSDVRS Video Interpreters; recruit, hire and manages all activities related to operations.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Training, supervising, scheduling, and managing daily operations of the center; strives to maintain a high quality call center, ensuring a pleasant work environment, and building team spirit and cohesiveness.
• Provide interpreting relief and manage the center on a day to day basis; oversee staff schedule adherence.
• Provide video interpreting services to consumers utilizing VRS services.
• Liaison between Headquarters and video interpreting team; Assist with other administrative functions as requested by the Regional Director.
• Ensure the highest level of quality service is delivered to all consumers; help create and deliver a quality assurance program for the VI team.
• Maintain daily operational details, reports, and center metrics; fill out Customer Contact forms and handle consumer complaints and/or commendations.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure that the established call center goals and objectives are met in a timely manner
• Handle all emergency issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise employees in their center. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

• Must have a National Certifications in interpreting of American Sign Language:
o At or above NAD Level 4
o RID-CI/CT and or RID-CSC
o NIC
• Must have a good working knowledge of the Code of Ethics for interpreters.
• Must have a good understanding of Deaf Culture.
• Must be familiar with State Laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Must have excellent sign to voice skills.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in community interpreting desired.
• Six months experience working as an interpreter in a video interpreting or relay environment, preferred.
